That the children of Agape Child Care Centre can sing beautifully was already clear. But there's always room for improvement. That's what Lieke, one of the volunteers at Agape, thought as well. Even after one lesson of a professional singing teacher, the difference was audible.

opent in een nieuw venster Singing teacher Sharon Williams-Ros has helped many South African singing talent to become a star. As of this month, she offers her services to the children of Agape twice a week. She doesn't only focus on developing the voices, but also on building confidence to sing in public.

The latter was already noticable after the first lesson, when she asked the children to come forward one by one to sing a little bit. At first the children needed all their courage to sing a few notes with their heads bent down and a shy laugh around their mouths.

But later they sung together, while Sharon walked around to give individual pointers. The further she came, the better the children were singing and the more sound the song actually got. Both Sharon and the kids were very excited with the progress they'd made after only one lesson, promising a lot of good for the future!
