Costs Dream Centre
It costs The Dream Centre a certain amount of money to host volunteers. We look to you to raise and donate at least this minimum amount to Be More so we can pass it on to The Dream Centre.
A detailed explanation of what makes up these costs can be found below. An explanation of why it costs you money to volunteer at a development project, can be found at the bottom of this page.
£ 546.00 per four weeks.
These amounts are built up as follows:

How are minimum donations determined?
The minimum recommended donations are determined as follows:
- We assume an average of 6 volunteers per four weeks. This may sometimes be more, sometimes less. Whenever there are more than 6 volunteers on average, the possible extra donations will always go directly towards the project. Your donation is therefore never lost.
- Transport is used for airport pick-up and drop-off. Because the accommodation is at the Dream Centre and all facilities are within walking distance, no further transport is needed, except in case of emergency.
- The program is designed to ensure that the Dream Centre can count on volunteers for a long time. This is the only way to guarantee continuity for the project. This means that part of your donation is reserved for future expenses.
- It costs Be More £ 200 per volunteer per four week period. See the explanation below for more information on this.
All amounts are based on previous experience. Minimum recommended donations are reviewed on a yearly basis and updated when necessary. What is included in these costs can be found under program.
Why?
Why should it cost you money to work voluntarily for someone else? Shouldn't people be glad that you are coming at all? These are questions a lot of volunteers ask, and rightly so.
The answer is quite simple: the projects you are going to work at have very little money, even to cover their own expenses. However much they may need your help, The Dream Centre can not afford to cover volunteers' costs. Therefore, these costs are covered by volunteer donations. However, Be More can give you all kinds of tips to try and raise the minimum recommended donation for your program, for example by having it sponsored by a company.
Be More's Costs
As you can see in the overview above, it costs Be More £ 200 per volunteer, per period of four weeks. This includes the costs of promotion, coaching, placement and management of the project. We understand and recognize the feeling that many volunteers have, of '"not wanting to spend money on that, I'd rather go straight to the project". However understandable, this is an idea that only works for the short term. Without promotion and management, our projects may not have any volunteers, or the program will be badly run. The projects themselves would be unable to continue into the long term and we could risk losing the program entirely.
Be More will of course use your donation responsibly. As a charity we are 100% open and transparent about our finances, as can be read in the annual report that we publish each year.
Minimum recommended donation amounts may be subject to change.
