I Care Program Details
Everything you need to know about volunteering at I Care.
Practical:
- Program duration: a minimum of 2 months.
- Leaving dates and availability: see availability

- Working hours: approximately 5 days a week.
Includes:
The costs of this program include:- Accommodation: The accommodation for volunteers is rented by I Care and is close to shops, restaurants and the beach.
- Meals: All meals are included in your program costs. Volunteers go grocery shopping together once a week and can decide how the food budget is spent. Luxury items are of course at your own expense.
- Transport: Transport consists of a rental car which is available to volunteers at all times. Your transfer from and to the airport is also included.
- Communication: You will have time to use the internet each week. We advise you to take your unlocked mobile phone with you as you will receive a pre-paid South African sim-card upon arrival.
- Preparation: Prior to your departure there will be a preparation day where you are able to meet the other volunteers and of course the people working at Be More!
- Program coordinator: There will be a program coordinator present at I Care. He or she will personally welcome you to the project, make sure you feel at home, and will be someone you can go to at all times.
- Helping you prepare: We can give you advice when booking your flight, insurance, travel itinerary etc.
- Certificate: To show that you have voluntarily worked for a development organization, Be More will send you certificate upon your return home.
- Donation project: Because Be More believes it very important to support this project financially, a part of the amount you pay will directly go to the project.
Not included in the program costs are:
- Flight to South Africa
- Travel Insurance (obligatory)
- Vaccinations
- Luxury expenses on souvenirs, extra groceries etc.
- Extra trips; Be More offers you a possibility to take part in several exciting field trips to get an even better view of your surroundings! For more details see traveling
Conditions
To volunteer at I Care the following conditions apply:- Minimum 21 years old
- You are creative, caring and patient
- You are proficient in English
- You will share your accommodation with other volunteers
- You are enthusiastic and able to deal with difficult situations
- And…you are looking forward to it!!!
