Volunteers at Ithemba

Volunteers help the Ithemba staff to take care of the children by giving them attention, education, day trips and much more. With a limited number of employees, it is difficult to give equal attention to all 44 children. That is why Ithemba loves working with volunteers; it enables personal one on one contact with the children. This way not only do the children enjoy more personal tutoring, they also learn to be more confident about themselves.

In addition, the presence of the volunteers introduces new cultures to the children. This is extremely beneficial as it gives them a broader view of the world around them and allows them to develop their communication and confidence skills.
