Ready 4 Life-Secondary Schools
R4L-Secondary Schools supports children from very poor areas in and around Port Elizabeth, on the south coast of South Africa. The project works with primary schools and high schools to teach disadvantaged children a number of very important skills ie. using a computer, applying for a job, developing artistic talent and starting a business are just a few examples of programs offered by R4L- Secondary Schools.
Volunteers play an important role by helping these disadvantaged children to prepare for the "real word." Examples include teaching, helping the children to start and maintain a vegetable garden, setting up a sports program, or starting projects in the surrounding communities.
