Application Process
Here's a list of what you need to do to apply and volunteer overseas with Be More!
1. Decide which project you want to apply for.
You can do this by:
-reading all the project pages on our website or
-requesting our info pack or
-contacting us to help you decide.
2. Choose the dates you would like to volunteer.
Do this by:
-checking our program dates or
-calling to ask us
3. Request an application for your chosen project.
Do this by:
-filling out the Apply Now form on our website.
4. Initial Phone Call
- a couple of days after you fill out the online Apply Now form, you will get a phone call from us to informally discuss your application request.
5. Receive Application
-After your initial phone call we will send you the application for your project as well as our Terms and Conditions and a checklist to help you keep track of what you need to send us.
6. Complete application
-Fill out application and submit the accompanying documents within 14 days.
7. Receive confirmation of placement
- We will review your documents and send you a confirmation of your placement within 1 week of completing the application process if you are accepted onto the program.
-Your confirmation will include an extensive travel pack, Be Buddy details, Preparation Day details, weblog address, invoice and lots of important info and numbers to take with you
11. Pay Deposit
-Pay a £200 deposit to secure your placement within 14 days of your confirmation
-This £200 deposit is then taken off the total amount of your invoice
12. Prep Day
-You will then attend your Prep Day in UK or have your Prep Call if outside UK, 1- 3 months before your departure
13. Pay Final Invoice
-Final Invoice is due 6 weeks before your project departure
14. Volunteer in South Africa at your project
-Use your weblog to help engage people back in the UK in development issues. Attend weekly meetings with the Be More Regional Coordinator in South Africa
-Have an amazing time!
15. Return home
-Complete evaluation form of experience for Be More
-Receive certificate of participation as a volunteer at a development project
-Share your experiences with others
16. Stay Involved
-You can then choose to stay involved with your project and Be More's activities in the UK by becoming a Be Buddy, volunteering in our office, holding awareness or fundraising events, becoming a Be More Uni Representative and much more!
-Stay in touch and up to date with your project and fellow volunteers through our online forum and our regular updates
