Volunteer Testimonies

"It's obvious that Be More is run by people who genuinely care about the projects"
- Helen Streeter (Agape volunteer)

"Dear Pauline, Be More is extremely fortunate to have you on their team.  You are without-a-doubt the most thoughtful person I have met in a very long time.  Your words warm and encourage me. My time at The Dream Centre continues to fill my thoughts, and I believe will be in my memory forever."
Roxanne Lind ( Dream Centre volunteer)

"I am very impressed with Be More. The team really looked after us and were there to answer any questions that we may have had. They also were great at making suggestions for us with things to do on the weekends etc."
- Karen-Ann Leslie (Agape volunteer)

"I was highly impressed by Be More, having done some volunteering with another organization. Be More absolutely met all expectation and further exceeded them.  The whole thing was very well organized and I felt supported at every stage, both in the UK and South Africa. I think the support and guidance was brilliant and I definitely appreciated the regular meetings with the Be More coordinator while we were out there.  I also greatly enjoyed the volunteer day where we got to visit the rest of the projects in Durban; such an informative yet emotional day."
- Harriet Burrows ( Agape volunteer)

"This was my second time at the Dream Centre and I loved every minute of it.  I definitely feel I was able to make a difference and will return as soon as I can.  I arrived quite prepared in terms of what to expect,  for me the Dream Centre is a project where you get out what you put in."
- Anne Durdy ( Dream Centre volunteer)

"The Prep Day ( in the UK) truly made me want to volunteer even more and gave me so many more reasons to want to do it. I really enjoyed the style of the information and the way it was given to us. I can't wait to go now and it is going to be the best time of my life!!
-Charlene Nunn ( Isiaiah 54 volunteer)

Project Testimonies

"I wish to express my sincere appreciation to Michel, Be-More and all the Volunteers for making the project a huge success. We have had in excess of 30 volunteers/students joining us so far and the journey has been an excellent one - full of discovery and learning. I also bring regards from our staff, management and patients to all volunteers - your involvement in The Dream Centre is invaluable." - The Dream Centre

"Dear Volunteers, ‘Ready 4 Life’ was started out of research, lots of discussions and talking with stakeholders. I set up the projects, thought things through, I thought this is pretty much it.Then I got to know about ‘Be-More’ and international volunteers. Although I am an eternal optimist, my first thoughts were: ‘Trouble in paradise’. That is not for me. But for some reasons I decided to go along and I met the first volunteers. What an eye opener it was. Volunteers are not only people who want to work, they want to work hard, they want to genuinely work together with local volunteers and the beneficiaries. There is an eagerness that I only can admire. There is an interest and a warm heart that actually gives me goose bumps. International volunteers bring energy, new ideas, fresh thoughts, new cultures, refreshing action orientated attitude, an open mind, lots of fun, team spirit, cooperation, knowledge, experience, expertise and personality. I have come to admire the high level of volunteers we get; the things the team has been able to learn from you guys, the fun you brought, the love in your hearts and the energy you mirrored. And you know what: I haven’t even mentioned the amount of money that was raised through you! You are a unique species. All that is left to say is: THANK YOU!! Your contribution might not be in the Guinness Book of Records or written in the books of History; but you have changed the world for some people. Please never forget that!! Love from the Ready 4 Life team.

"It is a real asset to the boys of Liebenhaus to have English speaking people around them and to benefit from. As English is not their first language, they  need to learn this to cope in society and schools don’t give them enough English basics. The diversity of backgrounds and languages [of volunteers] gives these boys wider horizons and understanding of cultures they otherwise would never have had. We are most grateful and continue to look forward to volunteers to help and support Liebenhaus to make the lives of these boys better." - Liebenhaus

"The lives of the children at Ithemba with all the difficulties they already have, have really improved. Sometimes with small steps and sometimes with big ones, but they deserve attention and love as much as any of us. The efforts of volunteers to give our children that extra attention and improve basic skills with small steps makes a world of difference to them for the rest of their lives." - Ithemba

"As much as I appreciate all the material things that have been made possible by my wonderful volunteers (My Sons and Daughters), the most important thing that I have got out of this is the privilege of getting to know these wonderful people on a one to one basis. Yes they work very hard and give everything of themselves to the project, but knowing these wonderful people has made me a better person, and that no one can take away. Being able to fulfill their expectations of the project and what we learn from each other during their time here is a “Pearl of Great Price”, and I hope that what they take home from here, will be passed on to benefit others in the path that they walk." - Glynnis Dauth, Isiaiah 54
